Chiel Borenstein serves as Partnerships and Operations Manager at WattTime.org. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2016 with a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy. Chiel’s interest in sustainability began his sophomore year of college. During his time at Cal, he has worked with his fraternity, student consulting groups, and the student government to make the campus more sustainable. Under the instruction of distinguished professors like David Anthoff, Elisabeth Sadoulet, and Jonas Meckling, he has been exposed to a gamut of environmental policy, econometrics, natural resource economics, and climate modeling. After a successful summer internship in 2015 with WattTime, Chiel found his true passion: clean technology. He has continued working at WattTime since that summer leading its business development efforts and managing operations to help the team scale from its original three members.
